Nemadji Pottery / Studio Art Pottery / Indian Pottery / Nemadji Vase / Minnesota Swirl / Marked Nemadji Pottery / Swirled Paint Pottery Vase
$49.99
Lovely small Nemadji pottery vase. This piece is marked on the bottom with the Indian River Brand Marking.
Popular for more than 70 years, Nemadji finally ceased production in 2001. Today their pottery is plentiful and relatively inexpensive, making it easy for collectors to make groups of earthy brown, sunset red, or sky blue Nemadji pottery vases. Nemadji Pottery has a very distinctive look. It is typified by its swirled paint look, which was developed by Eric Hellman in 1929. Hellman went on to work for Van Briggle Pottery before World War II and opened the Garden of the Gods Pottery in Colorado Springs in 1950.
This vase measures 4 1/2 tall, 1 3/4 across the top opening and is bulbous in shape. The coloration is quite striking on this piece!
